Searching for the best SEO company in your region produces a list of firms all claiming to be exactly that. The claim is unverifiable, so the useful approach is to ignore it entirely and evaluate on things you can actually check.

Check whether they rank for anything themselves
An SEO company that cannot rank its own website in its own city is telling you something. This is not a perfect test, since some agencies grow entirely on referral, but it is a reasonable starting question and their answer to it is informative.
Ask for the last three months of a real client report
Not a case study slide. An actual report showing organic sessions, keyword positions and, critically, enquiries. Ask what changed and what did not work. A firm that has never had a campaign underperform is describing a fantasy.
Establish what happens in month one
Competent SEO begins with a technical audit, keyword and competitor research, and a content plan. If work starts with ‘submitting your site to five hundred directories’, you are buying a service that stopped being useful around 2011.
Confirm you will own everything
Search Console, Analytics, your domain, your hosting, your Business Profile, and any content produced for you. This is the single most important contractual point, and it is where clients most often discover a problem only when they try to leave.
Understand their content process
SEO is largely content. Ask who writes it, whether it is reviewed by anyone who understands your industry, and whether you approve before publication. Content written by someone who has never spoken to you about your business reads exactly like that.
Be realistic about the region’s advantage
Ranking in Bareilly or Moradabad is a considerably easier task than ranking nationally, and any competent firm should be able to make progress within a few months. If a proposal is priced like a metro campaign, ask what specifically justifies it.
What this means for businesses in our region
If you operate in western Uttar Pradesh or the Kumaon plains, the practical point is that the standard here is not high. Doing this competently puts you ahead of most of your local competitors rather than merely level with them, which is a very different proposition from competing in Delhi or Lucknow.
