AI Search Visibility (AEO/GEO) in Saudi Arabia
Answer Engine Optimisation is the work of becoming a source that generative search systems retrieve and cite. It is mostly ordinary SEO done rigorously, plus three things that are genuinely different: every citable word must be present in the server-rendered HTML, because most AI crawlers do not execute JavaScript; retrieval happens at passage level against fanned-out queries, so each block must answer something on its own; and third-party sources — review platforms, forums, directories — absorb the majority of citation slots, which makes off-site work more important than on-site tinkering.
| The single biggest technical factor | Server-rendered HTML. GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot do not execute JavaScript |
|---|---|
| Most common silent blocker | CDN bot rules, not robots.txt |
| Highest-leverage off-site action | A first verified review profile |
| Reporting | Monthly citation tracking plus Bing Webmaster AI Performance data |
| What we will not sell you | llms.txt as a ranking service — Google states it has no effect, and 97% of published files receive no AI requests at all |

Verified presence on the review and directory platforms that supply most citations for B2B service queries.

04How we work
How we deliver this
01
Accessibility audit
Fetch every key page as OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot and Claude-SearchBot. Check the CDN is not silently blocking them.
02
Kill switches
Check for site-wide nosnippet or restrictive max-snippet directives — a single tag can remove you from AI answers entirely.
03
Restructure
Rewrite money pages as containers of independently extractable evidence.
04
Entity work
Consistent naming, schema graph, sameAs to verified profiles, Wikidata entry.
05
Off-site
Review profiles first, then earned mentions. This is where most citations actually come from.

06Questions we are asked
Questions clients ask
01Is AEO different from SEO?
Less than the industry claims. Google's own published position is that optimising for its generative features is still SEO, and that no special schema or machine-readable file is required. Three things are genuinely different: AI crawlers other than Google's do not run JavaScript, retrieval is passage-level rather than page-level, and third-party sources take most citation slots. Everything else is SEO done properly.
02Do we need an llms.txt file?
No. Google states llms.txt has no effect on visibility, and a server-log analysis of 137,000 domains found 97% of published llms.txt files received zero requests — of the requests that did arrive, AI retrieval bots accounted for around one per cent. We will ship one because it costs an hour, but we will not bill it as a visibility service, and you should be sceptical of anyone who does.
03Does schema markup get us cited?
Not on the best available evidence. The only quasi-causal study of the question — 1,885 pages that added JSON-LD, matched against controls — found no positive effect on ChatGPT or Google AI Mode citation and a small negative signal for AI Overviews. We implement schema thoroughly anyway, because it is cheap and it drives rich-result eligibility and entity disambiguation. We just will not tell you it is the reason you get cited.
